From shop floor to software

Engineering grounded in how equipment is used

Founded by a working grip, Norms has always developed equipment by solving real production problems. That same practical approach now extends across mechanical design, fabrication, digital systems, and operational workflows.

01

Product engineering

Mechanical design, product improvements, reverse engineering, replacement-part design, and production-equipment customization.

02

CAD and technical drawings

Create clear models, drawings, and build plans for review, manufacture, communication, and future service.

03

Prototyping and fabrication

3D modeling, 3D printing, welding, machining, castings, custom assemblies, and one-of-a-kind production solutions.

04

OEM and product support

Help manufacturers improve equipment, reproduce components, plan production, and support specialized hardware.

05

Software and integrations

Design commerce tools, operational systems, connected workflows, and integrations around real equipment businesses.

06

Technical consulting

Combine equipment, power-system, software, and process expertise when the requirement crosses traditional boundaries.

Built by a grip. Built to solve problems.

Professional equipment knowledge since 1962.

Norms Studio Equipment began with Norman Hess's firsthand experience on Hollywood sets. In 1972, Norms introduced its folding, nesting-leg C-Stand, continuing a tradition of practical design shaped by working crews.

That legacy continues through manufacturing, repair, restoration, sourcing, engineering, and customer support for studios, rental houses, production companies, schools, manufacturers, and independent filmmakers.
